Robert Klara Pearls

Our precious pearls are very sensitive to chemicals.  Care should be taken to prevent the pearls from coming in contact with any thing that might contain acid, for istance, perfume, hair products, lotions, or cosmetics.  Do not spray cosmetics, hair spray, or perfumes on the location where the pearls touch the skin.  Pearls should be the last item put on and the first item taken off.  After wearing your pearls, gently wipe them with a soft damp cloth and allow them to dry on a soft towel before storing them in the included Robert + Klara pouch.

Pearls need to be worn!  It’s not only true but it’s also necessary to give the pearl the moisture it needs.  Pearls feel alive, if you give them care and love, they will last a life time.  We work with the best kinds of leather, but if it is not conditioned, it can become dry and brittle which will cause weakness.  It is very important to moisturize and condition your leather frequently, twice a month for bracelets and once a month for necklaces. We recommend beeswax. 

Pearls should be stored separately from other jewellery to avoid scratches.  Lay your pouch down with your pearls flat in the Robert + Klara pouch.  Tip: Don’t store your pearls by hanging them.

Pearl & Leather necklaces or bracelets which are worn regularly should be checked for defaults regularly by the owner. Wearing your pearls, allows the natural oils from your skin to enhance the lustre and to moisturize the pearls.

Swimming in seawater is great for pearls. It cleans and moisturizes the pearls.  Care has to be taken before swimming to beeswax the leather strands! After swimming, rinse the pearls and leather with freshwater.
Don’t swim in water with chloride, it damages the pearls and the leather.
